About Classes

We are currently accepting new students and taking registrations!

Martial arts training goes beyond physical ability; it is a path of developing both mind and spirit. Regardless of prior experience or physical condition, anyone can begin, and the journey to becoming a true martial artist is guided by one’s will and dedication. Rooted in tradition, Black Eagle Martial Arts teaches humility, respect, and perseverance, where students not only master techniques but also learn life’s deeper values.

All you need to start is your dobok (uniform), tti (belt), and a strong will. At Black Eagle Martial Arts, we hold promotion tests every two months, and we recommend new students start at the beginning of a session. While we do not offer trial classes, we strongly encourage you to visit and observe our classes to experience our traditional approach firsthand.

Equipment

Students wear a uniform (called a “dobok”) when training at Black Eagle Martial Arts, and the cost of a uniform is included with your registration.  The doboks for Taekwondo, Hapkido, Judo, and Kuhapdo are different to accommodate for the different types of movement and sports regulations (if applicable). For example, the Taekwondo dobok is light-weight for speed and agility, and the Hapkido dobok is sturdier to withstand tearing.

Safety gear is required for sparring.  Padded headgear, chest protector (“hogu”), arm/hand guards, and leg/foot guards are on hand in the dojang for use in class.  We can assist in ordering them if you want to buy your own for competition.
